The rampant falling ill of the workers has created a tense situation among the workers, said Venkatesh, the relative of a patient admitted to a Anekal hospital.

Workers suspect that there was a dead snake in the water tanker, which has decayed and polluted the water.

After the incident came to light, Sarjapur tahsildar Lakshmisagar visited the factory premises on Monday and inspected cleanliness of the factory.

Taluk health officer Dr Janaprakash visited the hospital and held a meeting with the factory administration. He has taken a sample of the water and has sent it to a laboratory for investigation. He has instructed the factory management to improve the basic facilities provided to the workers.
