Bengaluru: The National Sample Survey Office (NSO), under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Government of India, is conducting a three-day regional training workshop for the Domestic Tourism Expenditure Survey (DTES) and the National Household Travel Survey (NHTS), under the 80th NSS round.
The objective of the NHTS is to collect detailed information about the travel behaviour of people in a given household.
The Domestic Tourism Expenditure Survey aims to obtain detailed expenditure-related and other important information on domestic overnight and same-day trips. This, the NSO noted, will help identify gaps in the current transit system, adjust schedules, and optimise routes.
The surveys will be launched in July 2025. Ahead of this, the NSO is organising a workshop on Tuesday at the Shruthi Auditorium, Kendriya Sadan, Koramangala.
