Parvez, 23, resident of Padarayanapura, was arrested by JJ Nagar police, on Saturday, for allegedly sodomising a 8-year-old boy.
The suspect was working in a scrap shop located near his house. On November 12, the victim was walking towards a shop near his house, when the accused promising the boy ice-cream, took him to a nearby under-construction building, and sexually assaulted him.
The traumatised boy managed to escape and ran towards his house. The parents, noticing their son without clothes questioned him.
He then narrated the horrific incident, after which, they approached the police and lodged the complaint.
The policed have booked the suspect under Pocso Act. The police said the accused had been sent to jail in connection with a theft case and released couple of months ago.
