The BJP has formed 14 teams, which will fan out across the state to create awareness before March 7 (budget day) about misuse of the SCSP-TSP funds to the tune of Rs 18,000-20,000 crore.

Addressing party leaders and senior functionaries at the preliminary workshop on ‘SC-TSP Funds Misuse: A Public Movement Against the anti-Dalit state Congress Government’ here, BJP state president B Y Vijayendra said, “As the main opposition party, we cannot sit idle when the Congress government claims that it has allocated a whopping Rs 39,914 crore under SCSP-TSP funds in the budget and subsequently diverts nearly Rs 15,000 crore to fund its fake guarantee schemes.’

The 14 teams of the party would cover two Lok Sabha seats each in the state.

“The teams will hold press conferences at taluk and district headquarters besides petitioning the deputy commissioners of the district/s coming under each Lok Sabha seat, appealing to them to use SCSP-TSP funds only for the development of these oppressed communities,” Vijayendra said.

“We need to achieve triple goals through this campaign - first to create a campaign to educate how the Congress has been duping the gullible oppressed classes in the name of guarantee schemes, second to send a clear signal that BJP is for inclusive and pro-development politics and third, to mount pressure on Congress to stop utilising SCSP-TSP funds for guarantee schemes,” he said.
