BJP district unit Vice President Jagadish Adhikari, who had issued derogatory statements against Koti Chennaya, visited Bhootarajagudde Dharmarasu Daiva, Kukkunanthaya, Kodamanithaya, Brahma Baidarkala Garadi at Kellaputhige and apologised by offering ‘Tappu Kanike’ (offering in money to mend mistake).

“I have tendered an apology by visiting Koti Chennaya Garadi and offered ‘Tappu Kanike’, thereby decided to end the episode. I will also visit the house of Senior Congress leader Janardhana Poojary and apologise to him. Further, I will visit Kudroli and Gejjegiri Kshetra and will offer Tappu Kanike even there,” said the BJP leader.

Soon after Adhikari’s remarks went viral on social media, people cutting across political parties raised objections and sought an apology.

Congress leader Prathibha Kulai had stirred a controversy by announcing a bounty of Rs 1 lakh who anyone who succeed in blackening the face of Jagadish Adikari for making derogatory statements.
