A section of legislators close to Excise Minister M P Renukacharya met Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Thursday where they are learnt to have reminded the latter about his promise made last year on taking up a Cabinet reshuffle after the presentation of the State budget. The legislators were of the view that there was regional and caste imbalance in the composition of the Cabinet. It was time that some non-performing ministers were dropped and party loyalists be given ministerial berth, it was suggested, sources said.
Legislators B P Harish, Belur Gopalakrishna, among those who attended the meeting, claimed they had met the CM to discuss development works.
Yeddyurappa, at the zenith of the dissident activity last year, had sought to buy time by promising to effect a comprehensive reshuffle in the State Cabinet besides appointment to boards and corporations in March. Legislators Chandrakant Bellad, Duryodhan Aihole and Appachu Ranjan had voiced their displeasure on the developments in the party.
