Mysuru: BJP MLC A H Vishwanath challenged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, to implement the ‘caste census’ (Socio-Economic and Education Survey report of the Karnataka State Backward Classes Commission, when K Kantharaj was its chairman).
Speaking to media persons, here, on Thursday, he said, Siddaramaiah's courage is like that of Uttara Kumara (in the epic Mahabharata). He was referring to Siddaramaiah abusing the Deputy Commissioner of Vijayanagar, during a public event, recently.
Vishwanath said, Siddaramaiah is using the AHINDA and caste census cards for his own protection rather than for the welfare of the people of the communities concerned. AHINDA is an acronym for Alpasankyatha (minorities), Hindulida (backward) and Dalit (Scheduled Castes), coined by Siddaramaiah himself in 2005.
“I am not sure, if Siddaramaiah has read the ‘caste census’. He is just misusing it, to mislead the people of Karnataka. Let him show the courage, by making it public and implementing its recommendations,” he said.
“The abuse of the DC, in public, amounts to an insult to the entire administrative system. The DC was addressed in singular by Siddaramaiah. This conduct is expected of a Chief Minister. Siddaramaiah has a habit of speaking to everyone in singular. He should realise what his situation will be, once he is out of power. Let's see, how long Siddaramaiah's arrogance lasts. Is Siddaramaiah an infinite leader?” Vishwanath asked.
Asking, if Siddaramaiah is a greater leader than the late chief minister D Devaraja Urs, also from Mysuru district, who never showed arrogance, Vishwanath said, “You lack the integrity and authority to touch the two commissioners involved in corruption in Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA). Yet, you show arrogance towards a DC?”
Replying to a question on the recent ‘Chamarajepete udder slashing incident’ in Bengaluru, Vishwanath said, “We worship cow as a goddess. How dare somebody hurts cows, going to the extent of slashing their udder? Is there a civilised government in Karnataka? Hell to you. Hell to your government” to Siddaramaiah.
Referring to Minister B Z Zameer Ahmad Khan, Vishwanath said, Siddaramaiah’s only aim is to complete his full five-year term as CM, with the support of his coterie.
