"If there is any Chief Minister who has misused the office of Speaker, the credit should go to H D Kumaraswamy and H D Deve Gowda family, who influenced the then Speaker Krishna to go slow on a petition seeking disqualification of a section of JD(S) MLAs in 2006," state unit BJP Spokesman Ayanur Manjunath told reporters here.

"Why did Krishna not pronounce his decision on a petition seeking disqualification of 36 MLAs, who as a group formed a coalition government with BJP?," he asked.

"The opposition members are not coming to the assembly, but only making allegations of corruption outside the legislature. To boycott the house is an act of cowardice" Manjunath said.

The opposition parties were "intolerant" of the BJP government completing three years in office and Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa emerging as a strong leader, he said.

Manjunath said the Supreme Court while quashing appointment of P J Thomas as Central Vigilance Commissioner had made observations against a high powered panel headed by the Prime Minister which had cleared Thomas' appointment and asked "Did we seek his resignation?."

The JD(S) legislature party had resolved yesterday to stay away from the session and hold mock Legislature proceedings across the state.
