Madikeri: BJP workers staged a protest in Madikeri demanding the arrest of those who were responsible for the suicide of BJP worker Vinay Somiah.
Prior to ending his life, Vinay Somaiah had written a note which the protesters say should be considered seriously. They have also demanded that a case should be booked against all those whose names were mentioned in the note.
On Friday, the protesters formed a human chain at General Thimmayya Circle and expressed their displeasure at the Congress.
SP K Ramarajan who rushed to the spot said that Vinay had ended his life in Bengaluru and a case was already registered. The district police will extend support to the Bengaluru police in its investigation.
BJP district unit president Ravi Kalappa, leaders K G Bopaiah, Mahesh Jaini and others were also present at the protest.
Earlier on February 5, a case was registered against Vinay Somiah and two others at Madikeri Town Police Station after a derogatory message was posted on a WhatsApp group by one of the members.
