Bengaluru: With less than a month left for the Social & Educational Survey to begin, a delegation of BJP leaders on Tuesday met BJP backward classes commission chairperson Madhusudan R Naik and asked him a bunch of 15 questions regarding the feasibility and the accuracy of the proposed exercise.
The delegation urged the commission to adequately study the errors of the previous Kantharaj Commission’s survey and the Jayaprakash Hegde Commission’s report based on the said survey, and make suitable changes.
Stating that the Nagamohan Das Commission took over over two months to survey 17% population (SC population in the state), the delegation wondered whether the commission’s plan to conduct the survey in 15 days was practical.
They took severe exception to castes such as “Kumbara Christian,” “Kuruba Christian,” ‘Madiwala Christian,” “Brahmin Christian” and so on. “Why have these castes been added? They should immediately be dropped.”
