Queen's Road, running right along the Stadium, bore the brunt of the traffic gridlock. Vehicles were piled up on this entire stretch, from the KPCC office till the Stadium. Cubbon Road where Gate No 12 is located where the first blast occurred also saw its wounds being opened up when excited, but scared spectators thronged the blast spot and the adjacent gates.

Link Road, Kasturba Road, Raj Bhavan Road, and Ambedkar Veedhi also saw huge traffic logjams. Annoyed and irritated commuters were seen alighting from BMTC buses and taking a walk to reach Shivajinagar and other nearby destinations. But those travelling to far areas had no choice but keep gasping in their seats and curse the City's overcrowded, jammed and congested roads.

Senior traffic police officers were deployed to regulate the vehicular movement. An annoyed and apparently overworked woman traffic inspector complained to the mediapersons when they enquired her about her well-being. "Everyone is fine except the police," was her reply.
The hold-up continued until the match started at 5 pm and all the spectators entered the stadium. But a senior traffic police officer denied there was any logjam. “You can see for yourself the free and uninterrupted flow of traffic,” was how he described referring to the rather quiet traffic scenario after all the drama had ended.
