A man was found dead in the Hirode lake in the town which has led to suspicions. Nagarajappa (60), resident of Shanthinagar town is the deceased.
It is said that Nagarajappa was having a shop and doing business near water tank in Shantinagar layout. When Nagarajappa, who left home on Sunday did not return even after late night, the family members started searching for him.
Passersby noticed the body of Nagarajappa floating in the tank on Monday afternoon and informed the police. Police retrieved the body and found shirt, trousers and shoes on the bund and suspected it to be a suicide.
Nagarajappa has left behind his wife and three children. The body was handed over to the family after post mortem.
