This was decided at a meeting chaired by Medical Education and District In-charge Minister S A Ramdas, at the old council hall of Mysore City Corporation (MCC) on Friday.
Wards divided
The number of wards in the command areas divided as east and west by JUSCO may differ, but the service provider has to honour his commitment, said the minister, which was also agreeable to the representatives of that company.
Earlier, the minister was irked to learn that the company has failed to meet the target within the stipulated time.
A senior engineer brought to the notice of the minister that the company was supposed to connect 40,000 houses before December 2010.
However, they could complete 33,000 houses and supply water for 13,000 connections. Already, a huge penalty of Rs 48 lakh has been levied on the company for the delay.
Also MLA Tanveer Sait who was visibly upset for the residents of N R Constituency represented by him in the Assembly, are still deprived of water, even after Melapura Project was commissioned.
Dy Mayor’s woes
Deputy Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath, who was also present at the meeting, alleged that JUSCO officers are turning blind towards her repeated complaint.
Giving information related to the progress in works, Nandish, a JUSCO official reasoned that in most of the wards either inadequate supply of water or low water level in the source is the reason for hindering the work.
In those cases, water tankers with huge capacity are being used. Mayor Sandesh Swamy, Deputy Commissioner Harsh Gupta, MCC Commissioner K S Raykar, Superintending Engineers (JnNURM) Suresh Babu and (MCC) Mahesh, Vani Vilas Water Works (VVWW) Executive Engineer Subramanya and others were present.
