He was speaking at the State-level 27th Chuncha Natakotsava, organised by Jagadguru Balagangadharanatha Kala Kendra in association with the Department of Kannada and Culture at BGS Sabha Bhavan at Chunchanagiri kshetra in the taluk on Saturday.

He said it was the villages that had given a clear perspective for the dramas and played a major role in encouraging amateur artistes transforming them into professionals.

Now, with the various diversions for the people it has become inevitable to experiment in new methods to retain theatre lovers, he said.

Karnataka Nataka Academy Chairman Dr B V Rajaram, Anantha Kumara of Mandya, B Jayaprakash gowda, Dr G V Dasegowda were felicitated by Sri Balagangadharanatha swamiji on the occasion.
