Thippesh informed that the matter was brought to the notice of MLA Jeevaraj who managed to get permission from the government to supply carbociron at subsidised price.BPH has been spotted in fields at Khandya, Balehonnur hobli, Koppa, Sringeri taluk.  Thippesh opined that the disease could have spread easily as the paddy crops were planted at close proximity.

“BPH breeds in moisture and since the moisture in paddy fields were high this year they could prolifer easily. The leaves of the affected plants turn yellow and if more that 5 pests are found in one plant then the plant should be rooted out,” he added.
