Bengaluru: BJP veteran B S Yediyurappa’s supporters led by former minister M P Renukacharya have formed a fan group - BSY Abhimani Balaga - to organise a massive bash on his 83rd birthday in Davangere in the last week of February or by mid-March next year.
Speaking to DH, Renukacharya said that he and other leaders like Katta Subramanya Naidu, B C Patil and 30 others came up with this plan, last week.
“For us, Yediyurappa is still a very tall leader in the state. Nobody can match his popularity even at this ripe age. We were handpicked and groomed by him, therefore, we decided to pay him a rich tribute for his contributions to the party, as well as our growth in our respective constituencies,” he said.
He said He said Yediyurappa turns 83 on Februrary 27, 2025 and that they had plans to invite party top leaders like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister, Amit Shah and BJP national president J P Nadda and others.
“We are trying to seek their appointments and as and when these leaders give their dates, we will go and explain to them the necessity of organising a massive birthday bash. Depending on their dates, we plan to organise a birthday bash by mid-March,” Renukacharya noted.
