KJP president and former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa has confirmed that he will return to his parent party BJP in January.

Speaking at the party workers’ meet in Shikaripura on Sunday, he said: “I have made up my mind to return to the BJP, forgetting all bitter memories, with the sole intention of making Narendra Modi the next prime minister of India. This may become the final KJP meet. I will officially rejoin the BJP after Sankranti festival in January.”

He said he would strive to strengthen the BJP in the State and help the party gain more number of seats in next Lok Sabha polls.

“This is my primary goal and I am confident that I will achieve this. I have no desire to gain any key position in the BJP,” he said.

His MP-son B Y Raghavendra said: “I will follow him (Yeddyurappa) without fail as he worked for the overall development of the district during his tenure as chief minister.”
