In a slip of the tongue, Leader of the Opposition B S Yeddyurappa referred to Siddaramaiah as the chief minister. During his speech, Yeddyurappa recounted how H D Kumaraswamy criticised a Lingayat pontiff in his first press conference after becoming chief minister.
“The entire mutt fraternity in Karnataka was humiliated by CM Siddaramaiah,” Yeddyurappa said, realising the mistake soon after members pointed it out. While Siddaramaiah was left in splits, Yeddyurappa said: “I’m sorry. I’ll need some time to get used to Kumaraswamy as the CM.”
