Former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa on Wednesday said he had disassociated himself from the BJP and henceforth would work full time to prepare for the launch of his new political party.

Speaking to mediapersons in Bangalore, Yeddyurappa said he would formally quit the BJP and resign as MLA on the same day he launched his regional party (December 10 in Haveri).
Yeddyurappa said he had not decided on when his supporters in the Shettar Cabinet and legislators backing him should quit the BJP. However, Yeddyurappa said he would not pull down the BJP government even after resigning from the Assembly.
