Bengaluru: BJP state president B Y Vijayendra said on Monday that he would travel to Belagavi on Tuesday to take part in protests by sugarcane growers.
He told reporters: “Sugarcane growers in Belagavi, Bagalkot, Vijayapura and Uttara Kannada have been protesting for a few days, but the government and ministers have not bothered to fulfil their demands.”’
He also participated in a meeting organised by ST morcha of the BJP, where he noted that PM Modi had announced on celebrating tribal leader Birsa Munda’s birth anniversary on November 15 in recognition of tribals’ freedom movement.
