Srirangapatna (Mandya dist): A car with three dead bodies were found in Visvesvaraya canal, near the North bank of Krishnaraja Sagar dam, in Srirangapatna taluk, Mandya district, on Tuesday.

The deceased have been identified as Kumaraswamy (38), of Hebbalu village, K R Nagar taluk, Mysuru district, and his children Advaith (8) and Askhatha (3).

According to family sources, Kumaraswamy had left Bengaluru to K R Nagar, in his car along with his children on April 16. However, there was no information about him later. Following this, the family had lodged a missing complaint at K R Nagar police station on April 19.

According to police, the car and the bodies have been lifted from the canal. The exact reason for the car falling into the canal is yet to be ascertained. The car was not visible due to water level in the canal. However, as the water level had depleted on Tuesday, the car was sighted by the people, who immediately informed the police, it is said.

A case has been registered at KRS police station. More details are awaited.
