MLA P M Narendraswamy spoke to mediapersons after inspecting the preparations at Shivanasamudra here recently. Home and transport minister R Ashoka, also the district in-charge would inaugurate the programme . Folk dances, devotional songs and entertainment programmes are the attractions during the inaugural session. Folk songs by Gururajahosakote and Kikkeri Krishnamurthy will be held on September 11.
White paper sought
Meanwhile, former MLA Dr K L Annadani sought a white paper from MLA P M Narendraswamy and district administration on the development projects undertaken at Gaganachukkhi .
Addressing a media conference here recently, Annadani said district administration and the MLA have continuously claimed that they have sent proposals to the government. If they had, then it had to come up in budget. But, why hasn’t it come up as yet? he questioned.
He alleged that Gaganachukki waterfalls lacked basic facilities. Since the conclusion of Jalapatotsava in 2009, no measures have been taken up to improve the area.
