The Cauvery Water Regulatory Committee (CWRC) in its first meeting on Thursday decided not to visit reservoirs in the Cauvery basin states to inspect the ground situation due to above normal monsoon.

Since rainfall in Cauvery basin area in Karnataka is above normal, the regulatory committee decided not to visit any states to assess the ground situation said Navin Kumar, Chairman of CWRC after the meeting.

In the meeting, it was also decided that the Cauvery basin states should submit the details of the water inflow and outflow to reservoirs, and actual storage on a regular basis to the CWRC.
