Talking to reporters here, Kharge said for a long time, the Congress party had been demanding a CBI probe into the illegal mining but now the Congress government in AP has taken the welcome step.
Without referring to anyone, Kharge said the CBI probe will give the local residents of Bellary respite from the terror unleashed by the mining lords.
He said a joint survey would be conducted by the two state governments, Geological Survey of India (GSI) and other related agencies.
