New Delhi: Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Tuesday said that the Tourism Ministry has approved the development project of Sri Renuka Yallamma Temple in Saundatti, Belagavi, under the PRASHAD scheme with a grant of Rs 18.37 crore.

"Under the fund, modern amenities like pilgrim arrival centre, cafeteria, first aid centre & more will be built, which will greatly benefit the large number of devotees visiting the temple," the minister said in a post on X.

The Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive (PRASHAD), was a centrally sponsored scheme aimed at promoting religious tourism by improving infrastructure facilities in pilgrimage and heritage sites.

The scheme aims to improve the experience of religious tourism in India including cleanliness, security, accessibility, and service delivery.
