Chamarajanagar: An ailing person was carried in a 'doli' to the hospital at Tulasikere village, under Male Mahadeshwara Gram Panchayat limits in Hanur taluk, Chamarajanagar district, on Wednesday due to lack of proper road and transport facilities.
Putta, around 50 years, a resident of Tulasikere village had turned weak as he was suffering from vomiting and diarrhoea. As there were no proper road and transport facility, the villagers carried him in a makeshift 'doli' for around five kilometres up to M M Hills and admitted to a hospital nearby.
There are many such villages, including Tulasikere, which lack basic amenities. The district administration has not provided any facilities like road, transport and drinking water, alleged the villagers. They also staged a protest, condemning the authorities.
"The people here are affected due to lack of facilities. The children going to school, villagers have to walk the route amidst the fear of wild animals. Those suffering from illness were not able to be taken to the hospitals at the right time," they complained.
