Raichur/Kalaburagi: Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi said the possibility of changes in the Cabinet could not be ruled out as senior Congress legislators were pressuring the party high command for berths.

"Some MLAs, who were elected five times, want to become ministers," he told reporters here, refusing to hazard a guess on whether it will be a Cabinet expansion or reshuffle.

"I don't to wade too much into all this," the senior minister said.

Jarkiholi said there was no chance of the CM being changed and that the government was stable, reminding reporters that there had been three chief ministers in the BJP government between 2008 and 2013.

However, he praised the saffron party for experimenting by giving ministerial positions to newly elected legislators, saying this helped groom leaders of the future. The minister said the Congress too should also try such experiments.

In Kalaburagi, B R Patil, deputy chairman of the state planning commission, hinted that he too was an aspirant for a ministerial position. He was speaking to reporters in the city.
