Bengaluru: Former Congress MP DK Suresh on Monday filed a complaint with the Bengaluru City police commissioner, seeking action against a woman who claimed to be his sibling and cheated a city-based jeweller of Rs 8.41 crore.
In a written complaint, Suresh said: "It has been reported in the media that one Aishwarya Gowda alias Navyasri has cheated many people of gold and cash by misusing my name. I urge you to take strict action against her for misusing my name. I also appeal to you to ensure that such misuse and cheating doesn't happen in the future."
Aishwarya and her husband Harish KN were arrested on December 28 for cheating Vanitha S Aithal by borrowing 14.660 kg of gold and neither returning it nor paying its equivalent of Rs 8.41 crore.
Aishwarya allegedly told Vanitha that she was Suresh’s younger sister and knew many politicians.
