Chikkodi soldier martyred in J&K encounter

A soldier from Budihal village in Chikkodi taluk, Belagavi district, was killed during an encounter with terrorists at Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir on late Monday night.

Bhojraj alias Prakash Pundlik Jadhav (28) managed to kill a terrorist before attaining martyrdom. A pall of gloom descended on Budihal as the news of Jadhav’s death reached the village. Martyr’s body will be brought to his village on Wednesday for last rites, according to the family sources.

Bhojraj had joined in the Army in 2007 and had served at different places. He was posted at Anantnag a few months ago. He had last visited his home during Deepavali.

Bhojraj is survived by father Pundlik, mother Sharada, wife Rani and two-month-old daughter Shravani.
