Students of Government Lower Primary School in Sakharayapattana in the taluk, have been walking a slushy road to reach their school.

Due to continuous rain, the mud road linking the K M Road has been converted into a slushy field. The mud road leads to Kalmarudeshwara extension.

There are around 40 students from the region using the road. When they walk on the road, their uniforms get soiled and the children have to stay in the school with the same cloths. Many people have slipped on the slushy road and have injured themselves. The workers supplying mid-day meals too have encountered the problem.

The problem has been conveyed to Gram Panchayat and the Block Education Officer. Though requests have been made to repair the road, there has been no response from the concerned authorities.

Sakharayapattana Gram Panchayat President Yogindra said that the road will be repaired soon after the rainy season.
