Mandya: After the state government handed over the case of the suspicious death of a dalit man at Kaththaragatta in Mandya taluk to the CID, they have intensified investigation.

Investigation team led by DySP Umesh visited the village on Saturday and collected some information.

They did spot mohazar of the place where Jayakumar died. They visited his house and took statements from his wife. They inquired those related to the case at K R Pet Guest house (Pravasi Mandira).

Fellow villager Anil Kumar had put hay on Jayakumar's land despite repeatedly requesting him to remove it.

After a rift in this regard, Jayakumar lodged a police complaint on May 16.

Jayakumar was found dead in his land on May 17 amid the hay.

Later his family and Dalit organisations had alleged that Jayakumar was burnt amid hay.

Chairperson of SC ST welfare committee of Legislative council P M Narendraswamy visited their village on May 29 and had collected information.
