The High Court of Karnataka on Thursday ordered notice to the state government in a petition seeking a stay on a circular on promotion for government servants in reserved posts.
A petition filed by R Renukamba and others, working as second division clerk, stenographers and junior health inspectors in BBMP have sought directions to quash the circular dated March 22. The circular has instructed all the departments not to promote staff in reserved posts for the next six months.
The circular was issued following a Supreme Court direction. The petitioners were due for promotion and have been denied the same, following the circular. Justice G Narendar ordered notice and adjourned the hearing.
