Haveri: A class 4 boy was electrocuted while two of his classmates suffered severe burns when a live wire snapped and fell on them while having lunch at their school at Haunsabhavi in the district on Friday. The incident occurred on the premises of Shivayogeshwara Primary and High School.

Mohammad Sha Khalandar was having his lunch when the live wire fell on him. Two other students have also suffered burns.

All three were rushed to the district hospital in Haveri. While Khalandar failed to respond to his treatment, two boys are stable and recovering, the Haunsabhavi police said.

During the lunch break, students were having their lunch on the premises. A coconut tree came crashing down and in the process snapped the power line. The live wire fell on Mohammad Sha Kalandar.

Two of his friends also suffered burns, the police
said. The parents of the deceased boy have not lodged any complaint, the police added.
