Shanivarasathe: A class seven student fell ill at the school and died after a few minutes of getting admitted to a Primary Health Centre in Kodlipet on Thursday.

Poorvika, a student at Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Residential School, died after falling ill at the classroom.

"On Thursday afternoon, Poorvika suddenly fell ill in the classroom. The school nurse immediately attended to her and brought her to the Kodlipet Primary Health Center. Doctors advised that the girl's health condition was serious and instructed to take her to the district hospital in Hassan immediately. However, the girl died before she could be taken to the hospital. Doctors stated that it could be a heart attack. The exact cause will be known after the post-mortem examination," informed Krishnamurthy, the district officer of the Department of Minority Welfare.
