A student of Class 9 committed suicide apparently fearing that she will fail in the examination.
M C Jasmitha (14), a student of Maragodu High School, is the deceased. She had appeared for Mathematics paper on Monday. When she did not return home even after nightfall, her parents searched for her, but in vain. Jasmitha’s body was found in a lake near her house on Tuesday morning.
She had left a detailed death note before taking the extreme step.
The note said that her parents had a lot of hopes on her. But she could not study well and feared that she would pass the examination, she said in the death note.
A case has been registered in the rural police station.
