When anti-social elements too are increasingly making use of technology to execute their plans, the city police couldn’t have thought of any other way to take some measures to check cyber crime.

The police here in association with a private party on Thursday launched ‘CLINCK cyber manager’ a software that keeps data of every user at the net centres.

Interacting with the owners of 180 cyber cafes at a hotel, Police Commissioner Sunil Agarwal said  manually collection of the information related to customers at the cafes will be a passe with the software. In the earlier system, it was also difficult to retrieve data when required, thus helping the accused remain elusive.

Matheenulla Khan, manager (operations) Ideacts Innovations Pvt Ltd., the company that has developed the software, said with the cafes contributing to 47 per cent of access point for the nation’s internet usage, the digital management and security is critical. With no practical solutions for management and also visitor information storage, the owners were also finding themselves in a fix, depending on the situations.

Now, the software helps in all aspects of management like accounting, terminal and user data storage providing a conducive environment for users too.

The software is available free of cost, he asserted.

The visitors to the cafes (where software is installed) have to register for any access to terminals and internet and will be given single login ID. The information and data backup will be done on CLINCK servers, that includes storage of photo, photo ID, address, contacts e-register etc.
