Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Wednesday accused CM Siddaramaiah of 'degrading' two major communities in the name of caste census.
"He is attempting to degrade Vokkaligas and Lingayats," he said. The minister said not just the two major communities, Siddaramaiah must explain what he has done for marginalised communities in his tenure.
"Instead of focusing on number of people belonging to a particular community/caste, the government must focus on how many of them are poor and how many have benefitted from welfare schemes," he said.
