HDK directs energy dept to ensure no power cuts

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy directed officials of the Energy Department not to effect load shedding in the state.

According to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), Kumaraswamy has asked the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd (KPTCL) to ensure that there are no power shutdowns, despite the prevailing coal crisis.

As the Raichur Thermal Power Station (RTPS) is hit by acute coal shortage, the chief minister ordered power supply through solar and hydel sources.
