Two weeks after he was sworn in as chief minister, H D Kumaraswamy finally stepped into his designated official chambers in Vidhana Soudha on Thursday, after performing a simple puja.

Kumaraswamy had not occupied the chambers (room number 323) on the advice of his brother H D Revanna, who is also his cabinet colleague.

It’s a well-known fact that the H D Deve Gowda family is god-fearing and superstitious and strictly follow astrology and numerology.

According to sources, Thursday was said to be an auspicious day for Kumaraswamy to enter the office, which was bedecked with flowers to mark the occasion.

Revanna has got allotted to himself room number 316 in the Vidhana Soudha. According to the numerology calculator, the number is said to be lucky for Revanna.

It is learnt that Revanna insisted that he be allotted the said chamber, and no other. Revanna too occupied the office after performing a puja.

The newly inducted cabinet ministers were all allotted offices on Thursday. While 19 ministers have been allotted rooms in Vidhana Soudha, six of them have been accommodated in the Vikasa Soudha.
