He was replying to queries from reporters who sought his reaction on mounting pressure from various quarters to hand over the matter to the CBI. The10-day winter session of the legislature is slated to commence from December 14. To another query, the CM said he had directed all state party MPs to raise the issue of rehabilitation and relief works taken up in the flood-affected areas in Parliament and also seek more funds from the Centre.

“Reddys’ puppet”

Yeddyurappa has lost the moral right to speak about illegal mining as he has become a puppet in the hands of ministers from Bellary, JD(S) State President H D Kumaraswamy alleged on Monday.

Speaking to reporters, he alleged that the CM has failed to stop illegal mining in Bellary. The CM himself has admitted it. Had the Government taken tough stand like the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh Government, mineral resources worth several thousand crores would have been saved in the State, he stated. It is high time the Centre intervenes and orders a CBI probe into the illegal mining activities in Karnataka.
