Maddur (Mandya dist): Chief Minister Siddaramaiah launched various development works worth Rs 1,146 crore, at Maddur Assembly Constituency, in Mandya district, on Monday.
Speaking after launching and inaugurating various development works and distributing benefits to the people, Siddaramaiah said, "We have launched works worth Rs 1,146 crore in a single day in Maddur, This is our government's challenge to the BJP, which is spreading lies that there is no money for development".
Works worth Rs 560 crore have been done in Cauvery Abhivruddi Nigam, in two years. Let the BJP government show what they have done in Maddur in four years, he challenged.
Listing out the various achievements of his government to Mandya, Siddaramaiah said, "It was the Congress government, which had paid the electricity bill of Mandya Sugar Factory, which had been pending for many years. It was our government which provided Rs 52 crore for the revival of the factory. Responding to the Milk Producers Association's request, we had provided Rs 5 incentive per litre to the dairy farmers. The government has again given Rs 10 crore to the Mandya sugar factory. We have started Agriculture University in Mandya and have provided sufficient funds. This is the Congress party's and Congress government's commitment to the people of Mandya", Siddaramaiah explained.
"The purchasing power of the people of the state has increased due to the five guarantees we have implemented, which has strengthened the state's economy. As a result, the state's per capita income is number one in the entire country," he pointed out.
The government has approved Rs 100 feet road in Maddur town, as per the demand of MLA Uday, the CM said. Uday speaks less but works more for the people, he lauded.
Fertilisers
Siddaramaiah also targeted the Centre, saying that the Union government is following anti-farmer policies and has been denying the state's share of fertilisers. Our government has written to the Centre demanding the supply of essential fertilizers, last week. But, nothing has been done till now. Let the BJP MPs and Union Ministers representing Karnataka state speak to the Centre and provide us fertilisers, he challenged.
