Mangaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate 'State Olympics 2025', at Mangala Stadium in Mangaluru on January 17.

The State Olympics meet organised by the Karnataka Olympic Association will be held in Mangaluru and Udupi from January 17 to 23, said Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan M P.

The last edition of the State Olympics was held at Dharwad. Around 1,800 athletes are likely to take part in the events in Mangaluru.

The district administration is arranging accommodation for around 2,500 people including athletes, delegates and others in Mangaluru, he told media people.

The DC said that the events which will be held in Mangaluru are basketball, fencing (US Mally indoor stadium), football (Nehru Maidan), handball (Mangala stadium), kho-kho (Neru Maidan), netball (Mangala Stadium), swimming (Emmekere international swimming pool), taekwondo, wushu (Karnataka State Government Employees Hall, Hampankatte), volleyball (Mangala stadium), weight lifting (Ambedkar Bhavana), badminton (Marena indoor stadium, KMC Attavar).
