BJP State president K S Eshwarappa said Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda will not have to take the burden of holding all the 21 portfolios for long.
Speaking to mediapersons on Friday, he said: “We are contemplating to allot additional portfolios to ministers with lesser responsibility with the intention of reducing the burden on Sadananda Gowda. I have also discussed the issue of Cabinet expansion with the party high command. Ministers may be changed based on the instructions of the central leaders.”
He said various teams of BJP office-bearers will visit the drought-hit areas of the State from April 25 to 31, adding that people were disappointed that the Centre had released just Rs 70 crore to tackle the drought situation in the State.
The teams would visit 123 drought-hit taluks in 24 districts and submit a report on drought relief measures to the chief minister.
He added that the election commission has directed political parties to submit a list of booth-level agents, as election to local bodies will be held before assembly polls.
