The Comed-K entrance examination for postgraduate medical and dental courses will be held on February 3, 2013.

The Karnataka Private Medical and Dental College Association had approached the High Court of Karnataka challenging the decision of the Medical Council of India to conduct a National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for post graduate medical courses.

Following a stay granted by the High Court on the notification, which was later upheld by the Supreme Court, Comed-K member institutions are conducting the Common Entrance Test, instead of the NEET.

“By October 29, we will come to know the status. If the stay order is vacated, then this timetable will have to be changed. Otherwise, we can conduct the exam on this said date,” Comed-K director A S Srikanth said. Twelve medical colleges and 25 dental colleges are affiliated to Comed-K.

The first NEET-PG, for admissions to PG medical courses for 2013-14 will be held from November 23 to December 6, 2012 by the National Board of Examination.
