Students from other states bagged four of the top 10 ranks in the COMEDK Entrance Test, results of which were announced on Friday. Shishir Shetty from Moodbidri in Dakshina Kannada slotted in first, followed by Maulik Jain from Punjab, and Varun J Kumar from Bengaluru. Interestingly, boys have bagged the top 10 ranks in the COMEDK exam.
COMEDK, however, has not disclosed the names of the colleges of the students. Karnataka students picked up 55 of the top 100 ranks. Information shared by COMEDK reveals that 11,412 students who appeared for the exam are in the 90-100 percentile category. Of these, 3,330 are from Karnataka. Meanwhile, 3,050 of the 11,446 candidates in the 80-90 percentile class are from the state. Of the 1,31,937 students who had registered for the test, 1,13,111 -- 37,715 of these were from Karnataka -- appeared for the examinations, which were held between May 10 and May 25, and was conducted in 179 cities across India. The examination had to be postponed in some of the cities in the wake of the Indian military launching ‘Operation Sindoor’.
Meanwhile, 69 candidates challenged the answer keys provided by the authorities. Counselling process for the allotment of seats will be held online, said COMEDK authorities. “Candidates will have to upload scanned copies of documents, which will be verified by a panel of officers,” the authorities said.
The top ten are: Shishir Shetty, Moodbidri; Maulik Jain, Punjab; Varun J Kumar, Bengaluru; Vennapusa Harshavardhan Reddy; Nitesh Anand, Bihar; N B Ritesh Varshan, Uttar Pradesh; Manojna Shreevijay Kalaburgi, Bengaluru; G Saikiran, Bengaluru; Anurag Chaudhary, Uttar Pradesh and Bhupathi Nithin Agnihotri, Andhra Pradesh.
