Chikkamagaluru: MP Kota Srinivas Poojary on Thursday directed the authorities to complete the land acquisition process for the development of Mudigere-Chikkamagaluru National Highway.
Attending a meeting, the MP said that the central government has approved a grant of Rs 400 crore towards the widening of 26 km stretch from Moogtihalli to Mudigere. As the land acquisition process is pending, the date of opening of tenders has been postponed to March 21, he said and directed the officials to complete the land acquisition before March end and hand over the land to National Highway Authority.
The MP, meanwhile, noted that the compensation should be provided to 231 farmers.
Revenue and Land Records department officials said that a joint survey has been completed in this regard and the rest of the processes will be completed within the next 15 days.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Narayana Kanakareddy said that valuation of farmers’ lands is being done by the horticulture department. Forest officials will calculate the value of the trees on the land. Later, compensation will be disbursed to the farmers.
