A bus conductor had to face the wrath of a mob for the alleged delay in issuing change here on Monday night.

Venkatesh Kumar, the conductor of KSRTC bus bound to Chamarajanagar from Mysore, is the victim. A passenger who boarded the bus to Chamarajanagar had to wait for Rs five change.

When the conductor erred by coming out with reasons to issue the change, the irked passenger exchanged heated words with him. After alighting from the bus, he returned with his friends and assaulted the conductor.

Learning about the incident, fellow conductors and drivers staged a protest at the bus station on Tuesday. Owing to this there was a delay in bus services too.

It was only after the DTO Jagadish and depot manager Lakshmipati assured to take measures to create secure working atmosphere that the agitating employees withdrew their protest.
