Members of the District Congress Committee observed the 102nd birth anniversary of former prime minister Indira Gandhi at the district Congress office on Tuesday.

Congress social media district head Suraj Hosuru said that Indira Gandhi had paved the way for the green revolution in the country.

He noted that the Congress government in the state constructed Indira Canteens with an objective of providing food to the economically less privileged people at subsidised rates. “Although the canteen in Virajpet was built long back, it has not been inaugurated due to the negligent attitude of the administration,” said Hosuru.
