Commotion prevailed at Poornaprajna Vidyapeeta in Basavanagudi on Saturday as Congress workers protested a speech by Chakravarthy Sulibele, head of Team Modi.

Sulibele, who has been campaigning for the BJP, was stopped by election officials from continuing his speech at the venue as Congress workers alleged that model code of conduct was being violated by campaigning inside a place of religious worship. As he was about to begin his speech on the temple premises, Congress workers started raising slogans in favour of Rahul Gandhi.

Following the incident, Sulibele tweeted: "Some congi goondas came to the program at Vidyapeetha today where I was speaking on ‘RashtraDharma’ and tried disturbing me..."

Soon after the incident, an audio clip of an unknown woman went viral alleging that members of the gathering were attacked by Congress workers.

When contacted, Chennammanakere Achukattu police denied allegations of assault on any individual.
