Hundreds of Congress workers took out a huge protest rally criticising RSS leader K S Sudarshan’s derogatory statement against AICC President Sonia Gandhi, in Hassan on Monday.

The party workers from all the taluks descended near the party office from where they took out a protest rally on B M Road.

The leaders, who addressed the gathering, charged that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh which came into being in the name of ‘patriotism’, was supposed to work for progress of the nation.

It proved its intentions through assassinating Mahatma Gandhiji.

The RSS, which tells people to respect women, made unparliamentary remarks against Sonia Gandhi.

By doing this, it has proved that there is no connection with its speech and act. Need of the hour was to ban the RSS in the country.

Former minister, B Shivaram led the protest. Hundreds of party workers raised slogans against the RSS and Sudarshan. Former MLA, M S Anand, D Mallesh, Mahesh, Lalithamma and Chandrakala were present.
